TubaScan's Diagnostic Application for Celiac Disease
Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disease characterized by symptoms such as chronic diarrhea and inflammatory lesions in the small bowel. TubaScan is developing a host genetic marker application for Celiac Disease diagnostics (CeliaSCAN). The IT used in this project is based on ClinicaGeno's CHUB platform. In addition, the project requires research, design and integration of advanced algorithms over the full lifecycle. This ranges from flexible R&D support through to final clinical use.
ClinicaGeno is particularly involved in the following aspects of the project:
- IT infrastructure (CHUB):
The project is based on ClinicaGeno's CHUB platform handling all critical
data analysis and auditing processes in a single,
tightly-controlled location. This reduces deployment costs and simplifies the
automatic recording of all data and processing steps for future audit
and process improvement.
- Core analysis algorithm: The technology generates a 'profile' that needs to be compared algorithmically against reference data to determine the genetic type of the sample.
- Database development: The database allows all input data to be stored and any relevant analytic results to be recorded. Additionally, it allows TubaScan researchers to annotate the data to support ongoing R&D.
- Regulatory Compliance: Control of all activities related to the regulatory compliance of the IT components of the system.
